Fiander Cup Charity Open match

Thirteen hardy souls fished this years Charity cup match and an Farnham's Mark Gillam ran out the winner with 23lb from peg 35 (See match results for top four). Roy wishes to thank all the anglers and people who donated prizes, also a huge thanks to Dave Johnson who ran the match for us  this year. Overall £705 was raised for The Royal Surrey County Hospital a great achievement by all concerned. Many thanks to recently retired Hon Secretary  Malkolm Richardson who presented the trophy this year, and our club Godalming Angling Society for donating the lake on the day. Several non fishing members donated to the cause and there was a fantastic gesture from the winner Mark and also Max Calverley who donated their entire winnings. A footnote from Match Sec Roger Howe who was unable to be present on the day this year, It is great to see Roy raising money for good causes every year and the has raised several thousand pounds over the years.
