The dissolved oxygen levels have been more stable in recent days but the water temperatures remain dangerously high.
We are continuing to monitor the lake and will reopen the water when conditions return closer to normal but feel for now it is safer to keep the lake closed.
All other waters remain open.
Godalming matches resume.
With most of our waters now open Godalming club and open matches will resume from Friday24th July. With the water temperatures still quite high there will be reduced net limits until cooler weather prevails. These will be clearly stated before the match. this is to ensure we look after our fish stocks going forward.
The General Committee have agreed to the reopening of Broadwater, Wood Lake, Hill Pond, Richardsons and Harris with effect from 9am on Thursday 23rd July.
Johnsons will remain closed for the time being, due to the presence of a significant blue green algae bloom.
Members should be aware that both air and water temperatures remain high with an associated risk for fish welfare.
