Saturday the 4th September was our last coaching weekend of the season.

We celebrated with a barbecue and the presentation of the Janaway cup*. the cup is awarded every year to the best Junior angler in the society.  This year Michael Ewing was awarded the prize after winning the Junior Summer league.  As is traditional he also received a pack of sweets to keep him going when fishing.

Michael is pictured with Sue Janaway and club secretary Graham Harris.  The event was great and the Society would like to thank all the team of coaches and helpers who have put so much into making our coaching sessions such a success.

* The Janaway Cup is fished for every year in memory of Chris Janaway – a former student at Rodborough School and trainee doctor who was tragically killed in 2007 aged only 28 in a motorway accident.   

Field cup win

The eight man Godalming team consisting of Richard McGuinn, Andy Love, Andy Rogers, Chris Kampa, Colin Underwood, Brian Kennard, Chris Kennard and Henry Golas won the Field cup at Winsor on the Thames. They only dropped three points from a possible 24 and included five section wins and also taking first and third individuals. Well done guys.
