We are a large but friendly Club with excellent waters and top quality fishing. We have a vibrant match scene that runs throughout the year, some great charity events for both Senior and Junior members and an active Fishery Management Team which everyone is welcome to join. You can get involved and help with nettings, general maintenance activities and working parties as much or as little as you wish. There's much more to us than just casting a line, but if that's all you want to do that's just fine by us (but you'll be missing out on a lot of other interesting activities).
There is no waiting list to join Godalming Angling Society for either Senior or Junior membership. New members are invited to join at any time but please note that our membership year runs from July 1st through to June 30th in the following year. We would therefore suggest that from March onwards in any year it may be worth considering waiting to join until the following season as part-season permits are not available.
Senior membership application forms for new membership, or for renewal of an existing membership, are available by clicking this link application forms, a Club Brochure is available by clicking this link GAS brochure, the Society Bye-laws (rules) can be viewed by clicking this link Gas Bye-laws and the Angling Clubs with whom we have an agreement for exchange tickets can be viewed by clicking this link exchange permits. Alternatively the Club Brochure with a Senior membership application form enclosed may be collected from the Apollo Angling Centre at Marsh Farm or from Assistant Membership Secretary, Dora Miles, between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm. Click here contact information for telephone contact details, who will send a pack out in the post. Permits will be issued within 3 days of receipt of application whenever possible.
Junior membership commences from the age of 7 years and permits may be purchased directly from the Apollo Angling Centre at Marsh Farm or R&V Newsagents, 7 Meadrow, Godalming, GU7 3HJ. Juniors under the age of 7 years do not need a permit to fish the Society waters but they must be accompanied by a Senior member.
For general membership queries please contact either the Assistant Membership Secretary Dora Miles, or the Membership Secretary Geoff Fisher, click here contact information for email and telephone details.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Club.
Trout fishing: the Society also has a thriving and friendly trout section, Winkworth Flyfishers, who fish the well-stocked, beautiful, 5 acre lake at Winkworth Arboretum, a National Trust property 3km south of Godalming. Anglers do not have to be members of the National Trust. Tuition and advice are available for those new to fly fishing. For further information, please click here winkworth fly fishers or contact Malcolm Richardson (01483 426535).
